गर्दभ का कमाल- अवनीन्द्र पाण्डेय

पटना में एक गर्दभ नामक गधा रहता था। नाम सुनकर आपके मन में एक बेवकूफ से जानवर का चित्र बन गया होगा। पर ये गधा काफी होशियार किस्म का गधा था। अजी इसकी होशियारी के किस्से हम क्या बतायें? इसने तो ब्रह्माजी से बोलने का वरदान ले लिया। खैर, वह वरदान वाली कहानी कभी और, आज हम आपको एक दूसरी कहानी ही बता देते हैं। बात वन्यजीव संरक्षण सप्ताह की, जब गर्दभ ने अख़बार में इसके बारे में पढ़ा। उसने इस बार कुछ करने की ठान ली। अजी हम क्या बतायें, गर्दभ जैसे होशियार जन्तु को भी यह सोचने में कि पटना में चिड़ियाघर भी है, 2 दिन लग गये।
फिर क्या था, जैसे ही उसके दिमाग में यह बात आयी वह चिड़ियाघर पहुँच गया। और वार्डेन से मिलकर अपनी इच्छा प्रकट की। वार्डेन ने कहा "देखो काम तो एक है पर शायद थोड़ा मुश्किल है। शेरु शेर के मरे हुए २ दिन हो गये और अभी शेरों की कमी है। सो अगर तुम शेर की खाल पहन कर बच्चों का दिल बहला सकते हो तो बहलाओ।" गर्दभ तैयार हो गया। बच्चे आते तो शेरा बच्चे गर्दभ को इसी नाम से जानते थे उनसे हाथ मिलाता। बच्चे चिड़ियाघर और जल्दी-जल्दी  आने लगे क्योंकि उन्हे शेर से हाथ मिलाना अच्छा लगता था। उधर शहर में शेरों को मारकर उनकी खाल  बेचने वाला एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय माफिया कालू भाई आ गया। उसने चिड़ियाघर से शेरों को पकड़ने की योजना बना डाली। एक रात गर्दभ के पिंजड़े में एक भालू घूस गया। धीरे धीरे वह उसकी तरफ बढने लगा। गर्दभ चिल्लाने ही वाला था कि भालू ने अपना मुखौटा हटाया और कहा, "घबड़ाओ नहीं, मैं आपकी तरह नकली हूँ।" वह एक आदमी था और उसका नाम था  रामू। फिर  दोनों ने जमकर बातें की फिर रामू अपने पिंजड़े में चला गया।अगली रात कालू भाई भालू की खाल पहन चिड़ियाघर में घूस, गर्दभ के पिंजड़े के पास आने लगा। अरे एक बात बताना ही भूल गया। उसने पहले पहरेदार को बेहोश कर दिया था। हाँ तो वह जब गर्दभ के पिंजड़े के पास जाने लगा तो गर्दभ ने सोचा कि वह रामू भाई है। पर भालू यानि कालू ने पास आकर गर्दभ को भी बेहोश कर दिया।जब गर्दभ की आँखें खूलीं तो उसने खूद को गाड़ी की एक सीट से बँधा पाया। अरे, गाड़ी क्या वह तो ट्रक था ट्रक। कालू भाई अपने साथियों से बातें कर रहा था। वह गर्दभ को मार उसके खाल निर्यात की बात कर रहा था। इतने में गर्दभ चिल्लाया "मेरी खाल ले लो लेकिन मूझे छोड़ दो।" सभी आश्चर्यचकित हो गए। तब गर्दभ ने पूरी बात बतायी। कालू भाई ने कहा "यह गधा हमारा राज जान गया है, इसे जान से मार देते हैं।" तब गर्दभ ने कहा "मरने वाले की आखिरी इच्छा तो पूरी कर दो।" कालू भाई ने पूछा "बताओ, तुम्हारी अंतिम इच्छा क्या है?" गर्दभ ने गाना गाने की इच्छा जाहिर की और ज़ोर ज़ोर से गाने लगा। बगल में पुलिस की गाड़ी में वार्डेन बैठा था। उसने गर्दभ की आवाज़ पहचान ली और इस तरह से कालू भाई का गिरोह पकड़ा गया। गर्दभ को उसकी बहादूरी का अवार्ड मिला और उसे स्थाई नौकरी मिल गई।

One of the most discussed and important topic of our times is-What to do after 10+2? , Which career to choose? , Where to study? Etc. These questions haunt the mind of every student and he/she finds himself/herself in a state of dilemma over career options.

                                    

Generally it is seen that most of the students getting good marks in their board exams choose to study science/maths at the +2 level. Few students study commerce and remaining students (very few) choose to study arts (humanities) or they have to study it because they could not get through in other streams. A hierarchy has been made by the society among these streams. Studying arts is considered the streams of the inferiors. Well, things are not like that. It’s just a perception that nothing can be achieved with Arts. In the present era of globalization, numerous opportunities have come up for arts students.

Arts is a vast field, it comprises of subjects like Psychology, Economics,   History, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Music, Visual arts , Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Public Administration, Anthropology, Philosophy, Languages including Foreign Languages and so many other subjects. All these subjects are very interesting to read and related to daily life.

While studying psychology can provide us the opportunity to be a Psychologist and to improve the mental well-being of the society, studying Economics can get us into Indian Economics Services and help the country’s economy grow faster. A bachelor’s degree in  Foreign languages like French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian can easily get us a well-paid job in MNC’s as well as jobs as a translator/interpreter in Embassies. One can also choose to work as tourist guides. One can crack CAT exams after +2 and join any management college and get recruited in top companies. To enter into law, one needs to crack CLAT. Journalism provides the chance to be a reporter, anchor, editor etc.  Apart from these, there are several competitive exams which demand Graduation in any discipline. These include Civil Services exams; SSC combined Graduate level exams, recruitments in Army, Navy and paramilitary forces, banking jobs etc.

Clearly, there is no lack of opportunity for arts students.

·        B.A(hons.) foreign languages-J.N.U, B.H.U, E.F.L university, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia & cultural centres of different countries like Instituto Cervantes, Alliance francisse, Max Muller Bhawan etc.

·        B.A(hons.) arts in Psychology, Sociology, Economics, History, Geography etc.- Delhi university, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Milia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University & several other colleges.

·        P.G in journalism-IIMC, New Delhi. Makhanlal chaturvedi  patrakarita sansthan, Bhopal , B.H.U

·        LAW-to get into different law colleges one has to crack CLAT                (common law admission test) after +2.

·        MANAGEMENT-after Graduation one has to crack CAT (common admission test) and several other entrance exams.

·        CIVIL SERVICES-after Graduation one can appear in civil services examination.

·        Fine Arts, visual arts. Performing arts- B.H.U, J.N.U

These are only few examples given here, but there is much more scope in Arts. One needs to analyse his/her potential to be successful in life.

नोकियाः अस्त होता सूर्य- ऋषभ अमृत व आकाश कुमार

मोबाईल क्षेत्र की अग्रगण्य कंपनियों में से एक, नोकिया की मार्केटिंग दिनों‍दिन गिरती चली जा रही है। वह भी एक समय था जब नोकिया के मोबाईल्स सिर्फ नाम पर बिकते थे। जहाँ छोटे बजट वाले ग्राहकों के लिए इसका बैट्री बैकअप और टिकाऊ होना प्लस प्वाइंट्स थे, वहीं बड़ी बजट के ग्राहकों की जरुरतों के मुताबिक इनमें एडवांस्ड फीचर्स भी हुआ करते थे। पर अगर आज मोबाईल मार्केट की ओर नज़र उठा कर देखें तो हम पायेंगे कि सैमसंग, एप्पल इत्यादि कंपनियों ने नोकिया की बादशाहत छीन ली है। चलिए सुनते हैं नोकिया के मोबाईल मार्केट की कहानी, आँकड़ों की जुबानी। 1998 से 2011 तक मोबाईल मार्केट पर राज करने के बाद नोकिया 2012 में सैमसंग को अपना ताज़ दे बैठी। IHS सर्वे के अनुसार अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मोबाईल बाज़ार में नोकिया का हिस्सा 2011 के 30% से लुढक कर 24% पर आ गया। सैमसंग ने 5% की बढत ली व 29% के साथ शीर्ष पर काबिज़ हो गया। स्मार्टफोन्स में तो नोकिया को एप्पल ने तीसरे स्थान पर धकेल दिया। वहीं भारतीय मार्केट की चर्चा करें तो नोकिया जबर्दस्त घाटे के बावजूद चोटी पर है। IDC India सर्वे के नतीजे बताते हैं कि नोकिया का हिस्सा 57% से घटकर 32% आ गया है। चीनी कंपनी जीफाइव आश्चर्यजनक तरीके से सैमसंग को पीछे छोड़ दूसरे नंबर पर आ गयी है। नोकिया व सैमसंग को माइक्रोमैक्स, कार्बन, इंटेक्स, जेन जैसी बड़ी कंपनियों से कड़ी टक्कर मिल रही है। 2007 में जहाँ नोकिया के शेयर का मूल्य $40 था, वहीं आज घटकर सिर्फ $3 रह गया है। हाल ही में लेनोवो द्वारा नोकिया के अधिग्रहण संबंधी अफवाह से इसमें तात्कालिक उछाल दर्ज की गयी। सूत्रों की मानें तो यह अफवाह नोकिया द्वारा ही फैलाई गयी थी।

चलिए अब उन कारणों पे नज़र डालते हैं जिन्होंने नोकिया की लोकप्रियता पर लगाम लगा दिया।
नोकिया ने समय के साथ खुद को नहीं बदला जिसका खामियाज़ा उसे भुगतना पड़ा। एंड्रायड व एप्पल स्मार्टफोन्स की तुलना में सिम्बियन स्मार्टफोन्स कहीं टिक न सके़। आज का ग्राहक नोकिया के सिम्बियन स्मार्टफोन्स के मुकाबले या तो एप्पल, सैमसंग या माइक्रोमैक्स, कार्बन इत्यादि के सस्ते एंड्रायड फोन्स को तवज्जो दे रहा है। हाल ही में नोकिया ने माइक्रोसौफ्ट के साथ समझौता कर लुमिया के विंडोज स्मार्टफोन्स की श्रृंखला जारी की पर वो भी कुछ खास कमाल नहीं दिखा पाये। पहला कारण यह कि भले ही विंडोज कंप्यूटर OS मार्केट का बादशाह हो पर स्मार्टफोन बाज़ार में वह अभी भी एंड्रायड व एप्पल से काफ़ी पीछे है। दूसरी महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि नोकिया के विंडोज आम आदमी के बजट में भी नहीं थे।
मोबाइल गिरते के मद्देनज़र नोकिया ने अपने फोन्स के दामों में कटौती की। पर यहाँ थोड़ी तकनीकी चूक हो गई जिसका नतीजा यह हुआ कि नोकिया के फोन अब पहले की भाँति टिकाऊ न रह गये। नोकिया के सस्ते 2690 इत्यादि फोन्स कई फीचर्स से लैस होने के बावजूद हैंगिंग की समस्या से ग्रस्त हैं।
हाँ, एक मामले में नोकिया के महँगे फोन्स आज भी सर्वश्रेष्ठ हैं... कैमरा, कार्ल जेईस की लेन्स से लैस नोकिया स्मार्टफोन्स के कैमरे आज भी इसके लिए प्लस प्वाइंट का कार्य कर रहे हैं।

बहरहाल, नोकिया को करना होगा बदलाव, नहीं तो जल्द ही डूबेगी उसकी नाव।

Book Review- Once upon a monsoon time By Ruskin Bond- Reviewed By-Akash Kumar

The Book is about the sweet & salty childhood experiences of the author. There is no imagination but a superb writing skill is involved which can be felt by the reader throughout the book. The story revolves round the author & his father.

The author spends his early childhood in Kathiawar, where his father serves as a school teacher. He uses to teach in the school especially for Raja’s & his relatives’ children. He has been given a grand bungalow, along with several servants including ‘Dukhi’, the gardener. Instead of his mother, he has an ayah to look after him. In the midway, little Ruskin has to go to ‘Dehra’; for his father’s appointment in the Royal Air Force. Now, his father resides in Delhi but in order to see Ruskin, he regularly pays a visit to Dehra. In the rains, Ruskin & his father go to a riverine island with plant saplings. They plant many trees there, imagining of a green paradise.

 After a while, the story takes a sudden twist when Ruskin’s father dies of Malaria in Delhi. He & his grandmother have to leave Dehra as his father has left no money behind him. They sell their house to an emerging doctor.

After 20 years of this incident, mature Ruskin comes to Dehra especially to see the green paradise, he & his father had planted.  He is content & merry to see the green paradise as a home of many animals. He realizes that his father’s dream has come true.

The story is written in such an interesting way that not an iota of boredom is felt while reading & believe me, the ride is thrilling….
